Indian head massage targets stress prone areas

Indian head massage is an excellent treatment to help with anxiety, depression, tinnitus, vertigo and eye strain to name but a few. As it targets stress prone areas; shoulders, arms, neck, head and face, it is extremely useful in combating stress related symptoms.

The massage techniques used can help you to feel more relaxed and focused, allowing you to deal with your day calmly and with a clearer head.

As the treatment is carried out without oils and the client is fully clothed and seated on a comfortable chair, it can easily be performed anywhere and as such, is a fantastic way of receiving a beneficial, relatively short massage at home or work.

Indian head massage techniques have been used in India for centuries, being passed down from generation to generation. Champissage, meaning 'head massage' is used regularly on newborn babies until they reach the age of about three. These daily sessions help to keep them healthy and supple. After this time, weekly massages are carried out. Once the child reaches the age of six, they are taught the art themselves which they then use on other family members.

Nowadays, the treatment has advanced to include not only the head but the shoulders, arms, neck and face to provide a whole treatment to the upper body. This was developed by a blind physical therapist named Narendra Mehta.

Treatment Cost: £25 for ½ an hour or £40 for one hour
