Complementary Therapies - Rebalancing Busy Lives

After working in the banking industry for five years I decided I wanted to change careers as I felt I was not pursuing my real calling. I'd always had a keen interest in the human body and alternative therapies which led me to a beginner's course in massage at my local college. This is where the magic began.

I was so amazed and excited by the effectiveness of massage treatments, both on a physical and emotional level, that I decided to book myself on to a Practitioner's Course in Swedish Massage where I undertook 40 weeks of study, written and practical to learn the art of massage therapy. The work was hard and nothing like I had done before but it was so rewarding and I was overjoyed when I received my Massage Training Institute certificate

Over ten years later and I am still learning and loving what I do, having received further qualifications in Reflexology (VTCT), Indian Head Massage (VTCT), Sports Massage (QCF), Myofascial Release (Gateway), Hot Stone Massage (VTCT), Nutritional Advice (VTCT), Teaching qualification (PTLLS) and a current First Aid Certificate. I am also proud to be a member of Embody and CTha.

I have found that using one treatment alone is not always the best option so I use my experience and skills to dip into my bag of goodies, so to speak, to use the best treatment for the individual person and their condition. A little reflexology here and massage treatment there for example can be more beneficial.

I treat clients holistically, which means looking at the emotional symptoms as well as the physical side. I am a true believer that many physical conditions are a result of an unresolved emotional issue or issues. This does not mean I will pry into your private life but offer an indication for you to consider which may help your physical self rebalance.

My main goal is to help people achieve results and if required, educate them in the way their body works so that they can use self-help techniques, e.g. stretches, relaxation techniques etc when they are at home or work.

My therapies are not just about seeing you for an hour and saying goodbye until next time. In truth, you are responsible for your own health and body but I have the tools to help you achieve this outside of the treatment room so that in the long run, you can heal yourself.

Clients come to me from all walks of life, retired, sportsmen and women, corporate clients and people with chronic conditions as well as those that simply require a little 'me' time and relaxation.

I have had the pleasure of working with Barclays Bank, the Learning Skills Council, East Sussex County Council, The Prince's Trust, where I had the great honour of meeting Prince Charles, Amicus Horizon, the Recorder Newsgroup as well as hospitals, physiotherapists, osteopaths and chiropractors. I have also been featured on the BBC2 programme Working Lunch.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your goals.
